Machu Picchu, Peru’s most important tourist attraction is a walled city considered to be one of the most extraordinary examples of landscaped architecture in the world. The settlement, which is located on the Machu Picchu Mountain, is made up of 140 sites, including temples and houses inhabited by commoners. The most important building is called the “Temple of the Sun”. All the buildings are made of stones that have been perfectly put in place without using cement, a construction technique that is typical of Inca architecture.
