Kathmandu is a city of palaces, temples and spectacular statues. This great city is a mixture of the old and the new. There are many opportunities for shopping manmade craftwork, and since it is in the heart of the Himalayan region it is an excellent starting point for rafting, trekking and climbing tours in the Himalayas or safaris in Nepal’s national parks. Durres Castle is the heart of Kathmandu and is surrounded by ancient palaces, statues and temples, such as the magnificent Boudhanath stupa.

Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport is located in the city of Kathmandu in Nepal. It is the country’s only international airport and has two terminals, one domestic and the other international. It is 6 km from the city center, in Kathmandu Valley.
