Cordoba is a colonial city full of European monuments and remnants of its importance as a Jesuit mission. As well as its architectural beauty, the region offers a pleasant climate and geographical conditions that are ideal for all outdoor activities. It is a fascinating mixture of the new and old. It was awarded the title of Cultural Capital of the Americas, and rightly so. Four excellent municipal galleries (dedicated to emerging, contemporary and classical art, and the fine arts) are located within walking distance of each other in the city center. At the weekend, young designers and artisans showcase their work in the craftwork market, which covers four blocks and is one of the best in the country.
